FX Digital is a leading specialist front-end Connected TV agency, partnering with globally recognised brands like Discovery+, BritBox, ITV, and ATP Media. Our team works on cutting-edge products in design, engineering, and testing, creating seamless experiences for Connected TV platforms. We're now looking for an Engineering Manager to join our growing team, someone who is driven, hungry for growth, and eager to take on the challenge of leading talented engineers to the next level.

What We’re Looking For:

We’re looking for someone who has a strong foundation in tech, an eagerness to prove themselves and most importantly a genuine passion for management. Someone who is a natural leader with a passion for management and development, who thrives in a role where you get to shape the future of engineers while challenging the status quo for better processes.

As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that your team of developers grows not only in technical competency but in their leadership abilities as well. You’ll be working alongside a dynamic team to improve and evolve processes, provide timely feedback and ensure that career progression is at the forefront of your team's development. You will not only manage engineers but be a mentor who inspires growth, fosters innovation and drives continuous learning. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact within a fast-paced, forward-thinking company.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Guide, develop, mentor and grow reporting team member's technical and soft skills.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration.
  • Maintain, challenge and improve existing processes already in place to ensure better efficiency and productivity.
  • Oversee documentation systems like the Dev Wiki and Backstage, ensuring they stay updated and relevant for the team.
  • Balancing innovation with project deadlines will be part of your day-to-day.
  • Oversee team performance metrics to stay on track while maintaining a high level of quality and efficiency.

Your Experience:

  • Strong technical background (either hands-on development or experience managing engineers in a tech environment).
  • Ideally someone looking to transfer from an individual contributor to Engineering Manager role or someone with a year's experience as EM.
  • Previous experience managing engineers (including support and mentorship).
  • Experience troubleshooting challenges (including performance, soft skill development and managing Engineering resource).
  • Genuine passion for leadership, the ability to make tough decisions and a drive to improve both individual and team performance.
  • Understanding of development languages and technologies.
  • Ability to guide team and collaborate effectively with other technical leaders.
